It is a busy time for the physiotherapy and allied health care team at Physioworks Health Group with the winter sports season now in full swing.

Physioworks Health Group are committed to providing sports physiotherapy and allied health care for numerous community sporting clubs and leagues, across a wide range of winter sports.

In 2019, Physioworks Health Group continues our long term partnerships as the Sports Medicine & Allied Health Partner of the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition (WGFNC), the Ellinbank & District Football League (EDFL); and the AFL South East supporting the SE Juniors (SEJ) and the South Eastern Womans (SEWF).

Education in injury prevention & management for club trainers, coaches and parents is a cornerstone of our support for community sport. In addition, members of the Physioworks team are providing training/match day support to community football (AFL), netball and basketball teams/leagues:


Winter Sport Participation 

Physioworks Camberwell provides ongoing support to junior football club, the Ashburton Redbacks; including sponsoring Ashy Girls Footy in 2019, while Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre (Physioworks Mulgrave) support the girls and boys at the Waverley Park Hawks Junior Football Club

Physioworks Health Group Directors David Francis and Andrew Dalwood are strong advocates for local community sport participation. “The Physioworks team are committed to supporting community sport participation to ensure all have access to a level of health care and injury management expertise in their chosen sport and activity. We encourage active team sport participation; it is really important for the general fitness, health and well-being of our communities, especially across the winter period” said David.

As well as our ongoing support for community sport teams and leagues, numerous members of the Physioworks Health Group physiotherapy and allied health-care team are involved in elite and professional sport this winter:

Our extensive involvement in elite, professional sport programs further ensures that any athlete from local community sports teams presenting at a Physioworks Health Group clinic benefit from the latest insight and highest level of excellence in sports injury treatment and management.

To help support weekend sporting participation across our communities, Physioworks Cranbourne and Physioworks Mulgrave clinics (Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre) are both open on Saturday morning from 8am-12pm. Physioworks Berwick provides injury triage and treatment every Sunday from 8am-12pm.
