Paediatric Physiotherapy, based at Physioworks Health Group Camberwell, involves the management of babies and children with orthopaedic and neurological conditions as well, as children with developmental problems. Orthopaedics conditions affect the bones and muscles, whereas neurological conditions are problems with the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. Liaising closely with your surgeon throughout the pre and post rehabilitation process, Physioworks Health Group provide post-operative rehabilitation for many procedures including:

Based on advice of your surgeon and depending on your post-operative condition and your goals in terms of returning to normal function and/or sport, our physiotherapy team will help you through the initial post-operative stage commences with gradual progression to a home based programme, hydrotherapy and/or rehabilitation classes in our onsite clinic gymnasiums. Exercise Physiology, Clinical Rehabilitation & Exercise and/or Massage Therapy may be beneficial in terms of aiding recovering from the surgery, an enforced period of inactivity/restricted movement and loss of overall general fitness.

“Clinical” refers to an accredited APA physiotherapist fully assessing you, tailoring, monitoring, supporting and reassessing an individual rehabilitation & exercise program.

Your CRE program may address your muscle activity, power or speed. It may aim to help improve tissue healing, reduce stiffness and pain, or increase mobility. Your CRE program may include Clinical Pilates or Pilates-informed exercises if this treatment/exercise is deemed appropriate for you to obtain the best health outcome.
