Physioworks Health Group Director David Francis was a guest presenter at the EDFL information night on Monday 2nd March at Dusties Social Rooms at Western Park, Warragul.
It was the first of three information nights for the EDFL for 2015, which are designed to keep all clubs up to date of the latest league developments and to engage with the local community.
Physioworks Health Group is the allied health care and sports medicine partner of the EDFL in 2015.
David Francis spoke about the support and education the Physioworks team can provide to assist the EDFL in the improvement of player performance, development and welfare. He emphasised that effective performance at each club requires team work across people in every role in a club; and all EDFL trainers should act as a collective to share best practice in injury management across the league.
Several Physioworks EDFL health care related events are planned to support the league across the 2015 season.
- On the 25th March, Physioworks will hold a pre-season Trainers educational night for all EDFL Trainers at Physioworks Pakenham clinic, focussed on injury prevention and management.
- An education night for EDFL coaches, focussed on player welfare, is planned for mid to late April.
Physioworks will be providing health care support the EDFL Inter-League squad as they prepare for their annual game in May.
