The winter sporting period is always a busy time for the physiotherapy and allied health care team at Physioworks Health Group.
In 2018, the Physioworks Health Group team are committed to providing sports physiotherapy and allied health care for numerous professional and community sporting clubs and leagues, across a range of sports, with services including training/match day support and ongoing injury management education sessions.
Physioworks Health Group Director David Francis is a strong advocate for community sport participation. “Active sports participation is a very important for the general fitness, health and well-being of our community, especially across the winter period. Physioworks and my team are committed to supporting local community sport participation to ensure all have access to a level of health and injury management expertise and care in their chosen sport and activity.”
To help support weekend sporting participation across our communities, Physioworks Berwick provides injury triage and treatment every Sunday from 8am-12pm. Physioworks Cranbourne and Physioworks Mulgrave clinics (Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre) are both open on Saturday morning from 8am-12pm.

Further strengthening our relationship in 2018, Physioworks Health Group is also providing Physiotherapy and allied health care services to Casey Basketball (CBA); including the Casey Cavaliers; and the Pakenham Warriors.
Physioworks Health Group continue our long term relationships as Sports Medicine Partner of the South East Football Netball League (including SEFNL Woman’s, SE Juniors, SE Netball), the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition (WGFNC) and Ellinbank & District Football League (EDFL). Physioworks Camberwell clinic provides ongoing support to junior football club, the Ashy Redbacks; while Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre (Physioworks Mulgrave) supports the boys & girls at the Waverley Park Hawks Junior Football Club.
Injury Prevention & Injury Management Education of trainers/coaches/parents is a key focus of our community sport support. Across all our clinics over the last month, the Physioworks Health Group team have held six evening education sessions, for each of our community league & junior footy club partners, to help best ensure the highest level of player welfare.
And summer sports don’t stop in winter. Physiotherapist Matthew Lynagh has been working as the team physiotherapist to the Deaf Cricket Australia Men’s team, including an intensive 9-day, 17 man-squad training camp at the BUPA National Cricket Centre in Brisbane in late April, in preparation for the T20 World Cup in India later this year.
