Winter sports are back…the footy and netball season’s are now in full swing.
Across April all of our clinics and many of our health care team are involved in supporting numerous early season activities…. at both the elite and the local community level.
Physiotherapists David Francis, Ben Shipperd (AFL) and Sam Mayes (VFL), along with Sports Massage Therapist Larissa Cordiano are providing their expertise to the Collingwood Magpies.
Physioworks Health Group Cranbourne and Pakenham clinics are the allied health care partners of the South East Football Netball League (SEFNL) and the Ellinbank and District Football League (EDFL) in season 2016.
Physiotherapists Jack Mason and Stuart Wishart recently provided physio support to the SEFNL Season Launch Celebrity Match. Injury Management Education Nights for Trainers for all clubs in both Leagues have been well attended, and Scott Burns, Mid-field Coach at Collingwood FC is the guest speaker for the upcoming Physioworks Coaches Night for the SEFNL and EDFL.

Physioworks Health Group Camberwell continue their long association with the Ashy Redbacks Junior Football Club (YJFL) in 2016 providing health care support across the club and sponsoring the U15 Red team. The Physioworks Camberwell team are also supporting the Xavier College Football program on training days and all match days at the school, ensuring the highest quality immediate treatment for the school.
Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist David Francis, and our team including Sports Physiotherapist Brad Fernihough and Sports Trainers Fiona Reid and Kirra Smith, and Exercise Physiologist Brooke DeHey are supporting these junior football programs.
Education in Injury Prevention and Management of parents, trainers and coaches is pivotal to our support of junior footy with Physioworks Camberwell and Physioworks Mulgrave clinics running Education nights.
The Physiotherapy team of Andrew Dalwood, Amy Shipperd and Chris Snell at Waverley Park Physiotherapy Centre (Physioworks Mulgrave) provide support to the Waverley Park Hawks Junior FC (SMJFL); and the Glen Waverley Hawks in the EFL.
Physiotherapist James Serong (WPPC) continues his role as sports physio to Box Hill Hawks in the VFL in 2016.
