An avid runner, Physioworks Health Group Physiotherapist Jack Beechey-Danvers has completed ten marathons, including three ultramarathons.

Jack has great understanding of being best prepared for event runs; and he has empathy of injury prevention & management for runners and athletes.

As club physio for the Pakenham Football Club, Jack Beechey-Danvers is assisting the club with their pre-season running program, preparing the endurance fitness of the team for the long season ahead.

Jack shares the following generic tips for runners:

  • Strength training is vital in combination with running to enhance performance
  • A dynamic warm up is the key to a long, successful run.
  • An active, planned recovery will make your next run easier
  • Some slight adjustments in how you run can make that impossible distance achievable
  • Preparation for your running doesn’t have to be just 10 minutes prior, building habits for preparation can go a long way.
