Increasing awareness of Men’s Health prompted by Movember is closely aligned to the ongoing core focus of Physioworks Health Group in promoting Health, Fitness and General Wellbeing across our communities.
We strongly support the Movember Foundation’s global MOVE initiative encouraging all to get their body moving during Movember, by attending an active event or by making a month-long commitment to enhance physical activity during Movember.
At Physioworks Health Group our physiotherapy and allied health care team focus on educating both male and female members of our communities to understand that activity and participation can assist in the treatment and prevention of numerous health issues.
Our Exercise Physiology (EP) team, headed by Brooke DeHey and Jude Hewavasam, specialise in the delivery of exercise programs; from elite athletes to those who may have a range of chronic diseases and injuries such as diabetes, obesity, arthritis and cardiovascular disease. Our EP team conduct exercise assessments, exercise classes and one on one exercise sessions designed to prevent, treat and improve client’s health, fitness and wellbeing.
Our EP programs compliment other services such as Clinical Pilates, run by specially-trained physiotherapists, which focus on improving core stability, posture, balance, control, strength, and flexibility through low-impact equipment and floor based exercises.
Many Physioworks team members have hidden the razors this month and are participating and supporting Movember – so you may see some outstanding “tashes” in our clinics this month.
And if you would like to support Movember and Men’s Health you can donate at Physioworks Cranbourne and Pakenham clinics.
