Physioworks Health Group Sports Physiotherapist Matthew Lynagh provided his expertise to the victorious Victorian Women’s team at the 2016 U18’s National Women’s Cricket championships.
Held in Canberra over a week in late January, the Victorian team won all 7 games, beating NSW in the final. It was the first time in 12 years NSW hadn’t won the national championship – a fantastic effort by the Victorian team.
Matt had a busy week ensuring many sore bodies were up for the next game. “Seven games across seven days meant managing numerous niggles and sore bodies, so post game rehab and pre-game preparation were key” said Matt.
“Unfortunately, one of the team members, returning from a ACL reconstruction last season, tweaked her knee again during a game, now needs another reconstruction and extensive rehabilitation, which took some gloss off the memorable team celebration” Matt added.
